Lenapehoking Challenge 2024

Courtyard by Marriott

About this event

If you ever wanted to try a road rally, this is your weekend!

The SCCA Philadelphia Region will put on seven rallies with three regional rallies for the less
experienced and people new to rallying. Many, many covered bridges and beautiful
horse farms abound. The regional rally on Indigenous Peoples' Day, Monday the 14th,
will be great for the family as it requires no calculations, visits several Chester County
historical sites, and you choose the roads to use. All rallies start at The Courtyard by
Marriott in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. https://www.marriott.com/events/start.mi?id=1706651403344&key=GRP

Regional GTA Rally

Indigenous Peoples' Day Rally, a perfect family adventure with no math required. Explore parts of Chester County you have not seen before!

These shortest distance rallies are untimed and follow an undefined route. Instead of the usual road rally route instructions and timing controls, contestants are given a map and a short list of waypoints to be visited along with a transponder that tracks your progress. Contestants receive penalty points for each 0.001 mile traversed during the rally. Thus, the goal is to visit all the required sites (waypoints) in the overall time allotted while traversing the shortest distance possible. These waypoints may be visited in any order of your choosing after leaving the start control and prior to your arrival at the finish control. Unlimited use of additional maps, GPS, Waze, etc. is permitted. The available roads are all public roads in Chester County, PA. Typical fall foliage and scenery should be superb as you travel on many roads most of you will have never seen before. Each team (minimum of two people) will use their provided map and waypoint list to plot a course and may drive at whatever legal speeds are comfortable for them. Three hours is allotted for completing the rally but it should take less time. Awards for best overall finishing position(s).
